The New Church - Istanbul, the city and the sultan
Since many years the New Church has been organizing important
exhibitions. In the inspiring ambience of the church many art treasures
have yet been displayed. The coming winter exhibition is titled
‘Istanbul’. From 16 December 2006 till April 2007 the church will be
filled with the splendour of the Ottoman sultans.

The Allard Pierson Museum - The Amsterdam Archaeological
Museum
The
Allard Pierson Museum is the archaeological museum of the University of
Amsterdam. It houses one of the most important collection of antiquities
in the Netherlands. The collection ranges from Ancient Egypt to the
late Roman period. One of the hidden treasures of the museum is the
collection of 19th century plaster casts of famous Greek and
Roman sculptures. This collection can only be visited with a guided
tour.

The Hermitage Amsterdam
The
Hermitage Amsterdam is a dependency of the world famous State Hermitage
Museum in Saint Petersburg. In the Hermitage Amsterdam different
exhibitions are organized that show the diversity of the collection in
Saint Petersburg. From 7 October 2006 till 11 March 2007 the museum
welcomes the exhibition ‘Collectors in Saint Petersburg’. In the
Hermitage Amsterdam guided tours are not possible. As an introduction to
your visit a lecture can be booked in the auditorium.

Rijksmuseum
The Rijksmuseum
is without doubt the most important museum of the Netherlands. It is
especially the collection of 17th century paintings that is exceptional.
In this guided tour an overview of the diversity and development of the
art of the Golden Age is given. The paintings by Rembrandt, Vermeer and
Frans Hals are world famous and are of ever lasting importance for the
history of art.

The Amsterdam Historical Museum
A tour through the lovely
collection of the Amsterdam Historical Museum will bring to live the
history of Amsterdam. Apart from objects that tell the cities history,
the museum houses many priceless works of art. Among them the intriguing
anatomical lesson by Dr. Deyman painted by Rembrandt. As the collection
is very extensive different thematic tours can be booked, focusing on a
specific period or subject.
